Use vmkfstools or vmware-cmd

Example:

# vmkfstools -i MYDCVM-02-000001.vmdk MYDCVM-02-HDD1.vmdk

or

[root@esx02 VMGENIE]# vmware-cmd VMGENIE.vmx hassnapshot

hassnapshot() = 1

if you get output hassnapshot() = 1; then run bellow command

[root@esx02 VMGENIE]# vmware-cmd VMGENIE.vmx removesnapshots

removesnapshots() = 1
