What is bonding?

For redundant network, HA, you can have two NICs in bond with single IP address.

For Windows User:

This is similar like bridging two network.

Here is sample follows:

----N1---

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-bond0

DEVICE=bond0

IPADDR=10.20.15.15

NETMASK=255.255.254.0

GATEWAY=10.20.15.1

MTU=1400

ONBOOT=yes

TYPE=Ethernet

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

DEVICE=eth0

MASTER=bond0

SLAVE=yes

ONBOOT=yes

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1

DEVICE=eth1

MASTER=bond0

SLAVE=yes

ONBOOT=yes
