vShield Manager Installation

 


The following should be completed in advance of attempting vCloud installation. Make sure to get the IP address, network details before starting. Also keep this in server side VLAN, management network.

 

 

Install vShield Manager:

 

Downloaded latest OVA to your desktop from vmware website.

 

Open vCenter Server for POD and run Deploy OVF to Management Cluster on Infrastructure Management Network.

 

 

Once deployed login with default credentials of Login: admin Password: default via VM Console

 


manager login: admin
Password: default
manager> enable
Password: default
manager# setup 
Use CTRL-D to abort configuration dialog at any prompt.
Default settings are in square brackets '[]'. 
IP Address (A.B.C.D): <IP ADDRESS>
Subnet Mask (A.B.C.D): <NetMask>
Default gateway (A.B.C.D): <GW Address>
Primary DNS IP (A.B.C.D): <Primary DNS>
Secondary DNS Ip (A.B.C.D): <Secondary DNS>
DNS domain search list (space separated): vmgenie.com
Old configuration will be lost
Do you want to save new configuration (y/
[n]): y
e1000: mgmt NIC Link is Down
e1000: mgmt NIC Link is up 1000 Mbps Full Duplex, Flow Control: None
manager# reboot

 

 

 

After system reboots log back in and perform.

manager> enable

manageer# config t

manager(config)# hostname <hostname>

manager(config)# enable password <type-password>

manager(config)# write memory

Building Configuration...

[OK]

manager(config)# exit

manager# write

Building Configuration...

[OK]

manager(config)# reboot

 

 

 

After setup has been run and reboot completed log in to web interface via https://<hostname> user: admin, password: default
