Privacy notice

This page describes what the public VMgenie marketing site at vmgenie.com records when you visit it, and how to ask for that information to be removed. It covers only the marketing site — the VMgenie control panel product that customers run on their own subdomain is a separate service with its own handling.

Cookies

The pages on this site are plain static HTML and CSS. They do not embed analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or any other JavaScript that would set a first-party cookie in your browser, and they do not pull in third-party scripts that would set a third-party cookie either. The only first-party cookie this site ever sets is the consent cookie described below, and only after you accept the cookie notice.

If your browser or any hosting or content-delivery layer in front of this site sets a cookie (for example, a load-balancer cookie used only to route a single request to the right backend), that cookie is strictly to serve the request you made and is not used to identify you across visits.

Before this site sets any cookie, it shows a short cookie notice. If you accept, the site writes a single first-party cookie named vmgenie_cookie_consent with the value accepted, valid for one year and scoped to this domain (path=/). The cookie remembers that you have accepted the notice so the banner is not shown again on later visits. It is not used to identify you and contains no personal information. You can remove it at any time from your browser's cookie settings, after which the notice will be shown again on your next visit.

Server logs

Every request that reaches the host serving this site is recorded in a standard HTTP access log. The fields that a typical web server records for a static request are:

  • The IP address that made the request
  • The date and time of the request
  • The URL and path that was requested
  • The HTTP status code returned (for example, 200 or 404)
  • The user-agent string sent by your browser
  • If your browser sent one, the referring page (the Referer header)

These access-log fields are used by us for security (for example, to detect abusive traffic) and for operations (for example, to diagnose errors). They are not sold, and they are not used to build a profile of your browsing.

Email you send us

The contact page lists support@vmgenie.com as the address to reach the company. If you send an email to that address, or to any other VMgenie address published on this site, we keep the message and your email address so that we can reply to you and so that we have a record of the conversation.

Messages to security@vmgenie.com (the address listed on the security page) are handled by the VMgenie security team for vulnerability reports and follow the process described there.

How to ask for removal

You can ask for any record we hold about you to be removed. Send an email to support@vmgenie.com from the address you want removed, and tell us which specific log entry or email message you would like deleted. We will confirm what we can find and remove the relevant record.

Server access-log entries are written by automated infrastructure, so we can only remove a specific entry on a case-by-case basis; we cannot offer a blanket "do not log" option for this public site without breaking it for other visitors. If your request is about an email you sent us, please include a copy of the message or enough of its contents and date for us to find it.

What this notice does not cover

This notice is for the public marketing site at vmgenie.com. The VMgenie control panel is a product that customers run themselves, on their own subdomain, against their own servers and infrastructure. Data handled inside a customer's panel — logins, virtual server state, billing records — is governed by that customer's own hosting arrangements, not by this page. For questions about a customer's panel, contact that customer directly; for questions about VMgenie as a company, use the contact page.
