Announcements from the VMgenie team, newest first. News covers service notices, roadmap updates and other items that don't fit into a versioned release — for the full release history, see the changelog.
On 4 September a misconfigured migration on one of our EU servers knocked the control plane offline for 17 minutes. Affected servers have been re-imaged with a guard against the same misconfiguration. Full timeline and remediation steps are on the status page.
From 1 November, the panel offers three plans instead of four. Most accounts moved automatically, with grandfathered pricing for any customer on a higher custom-rate contract. Updated details and migration notes are on the pricing page.
We have published a coordinated disclosure policy with a 90-day response SLA, scope of what is in and out, and a PGP-signed contact channel. Read the full text on the security page; historical disclosures are listed there in reverse chronological order.
From 1 August, email support is staffed 06:00–24:00 UTC, and chat is staffed 09:00–18:00 UTC on weekdays. The full schedule and the on-call escalation path for production-impacting issues are on the support page.
Every screen of the control panel now reflows cleanly on phone-sized viewports, including the live usage graphs and the serial console. Touch gestures replace hover-only menus, and the dashboard cards stack into a single column on narrow screens. Try it on a phone, or read the quickstart on the same device.
Each VM can now record the exact OS template version it was created from, so a re-imaging flow can rebuild to the same bits. The version is shown on the VM detail page and surfaces in the public API as part of the VM record. Default behaviour is unchanged for VMs that never opt in.
